Holly Humberstone releases new retro music video for single "Overkill"

In her latest single, UK-based artist Holly Humberstone displays her incredible ability to create feel-good bedroom pop. Along with the new single, Humberstone enlisted the help of her sister to make a kind of DIY music video. The pair decided to have Holly run through the forest behind their home while she performed the song at dusk, on an old VHS camcorder. The 90s-esque dated format the music video has, gives it more of a nostalgic feel.

Humberstone’s sound seems to be reminiscent of artists like Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Clairo. The lyrics like “No I won't make fuss, No I won't cause a scene. And my heart keeps racing, racing, still I’m over being overkill…” touches on the act of falling in love with someone new, but not wanting to be seen as overbearing. With over 73k views and counting, “Overkill” is sure to be a summer hit. Holly Humberstone is someone to keep on your radar for sure.
